Feast @ East Buffet at Grand Mercure Roxy Square

What to do people in Singapore love to do?
Where can i bring my oversea friends for food?
Where is a good place to bring the family for early father’s day celebrations?

These are all the common questions i get from my peers around me, and as a social media influencer, there is lots of where, why, what and recommandations that i would need to be up and ready to introduce to people around me.

Today i am going to introduce Peranakan Cuisine, something that is down to earth and easy to eat for our parents and family gathering. Something Traditional for a good get together session with the family and savouring into Authentic Peranakan food.

The Traditional design of the Peranakan Theme welcomes and arouse the mood of a what you are about to dine 🙂

Savouring the authentic Peranakan Feast@ East Buffet.  The Experience upon entering the boutique was good, and there is nice peranakan music that flows through the restaurant. There is a wide selection of Peranakan Favourites. Food lovers can look forward to sambal Timun, pineapples with cucumbers, spicy shredded chicken salad, sambal kacang botol, Laksa, Mee Siam, Ngoh hiang, popiah, grilled otah, Mee rebus, prawn noodles.

For soup lovers, relish in bakwan kepiting, itek tim, papaya titik and tauhu soup!

So, what to start off with?

Cold dishes? like our typical chinese restaurant?

Desserts time!!!

Fruits and can you spot the gem at the corner?

Ta…da… this is the Golden Gem!
Frankly speaking… i really cannot tell that this is the durian cake . it looks like a blue berry cake to me till someone tell me, hey, gin why u didnt eat the durian cake?!

Hmm… maybe if improvement can be made,  make it more durian-look visually 🙂

Overall the taste is very favourful and as good as eating the real durian food. Just that the looks is deceiving and not very convincing hahaha

More desserts! Load them all into your tummy!!! Peranakan desserts are must-eat! Sweet tooth lovers

And here is my plate full of desserts!!!!

Ice cream session! All types of icecream you can find! from traditional to ice bar 🙂 and i choose the traditional icecream cone as i love the crunchy of the biscuit!

and more icecream! childhood icecream selection , icecream in icecream stick.

I think it is a GREAT place to bring our grandparents, parents and family members for buffet because the food is pretty down to earth and there is no worry that maybe it is too modern or fusion style .If you are planning where to go on father’s day . this would be a great place.

There is fresh prawns and mussles and salmon sashimi and alot more delicacy.

So many hot varieties including Ayam Buah keluak, Assam pedas tengiri, sambal udang belimbing, Babi ponteh, curry chicken, flower crabs with tau chio, magga lemak, nyonya mee, lemak fish cake, cray fish with potato, and more, these favourites may varies daily.

The service is good and helpful 🙂

The ambience is really very peranakan style. The effort in the visual merchanising part was placed with much thoughts and that the peranakan food , at The straits kitchen at the hyatt, does not have such.

Overall, this is a place that i would re-visit again. 🙂 and i love the east . Food in the east are always full of surprises! For food lover of peranakan food, you can also compare to The straits kitchen, at Hyatt hotel. And let me know how you like it 🙂 leave your comments 🙂
