FIJI WATER AND RENOWNED CHEFS COLLABORATE ON CHARITY CONCERT
Top chefs to rock it out at the first ever FIJI Water Rockstar Chefs Charity Concert
– Come 14 March 2012, six renowned chefs in Singapore are set to rock the stage at the FIJI Water Rockstar Chefs Charity Concert in a one-night-only charity event at the Hard Rock Café, Resorts World Sentosa.
Sponsored by FIJI Water, the premium artesian water brand, the FIJI Water 🙂
Rockstar Chefs Charity Concert is organized in support of The Little Arts Academy. Established since November 2008,
The Little Arts Academy aims to provide equal opportunity for children between 5 to 19 years old to be exposed to the arts and to explore their artistic talents. The Little Arts Academy offers professional training in dance, visual arts, music and theatre, making it possible for children to fully develop their interest and potential in the arts.
“As a company, FIJI Water strives to make a positive impact in each community we operate in,” said David Ricanati, president of FIJI Water. “The FIJI Water Rockstar Chefs Charity
Concert enables us to combine our passion for extraordinary cuisine and the arts in a refreshing way all while giving back to society.”
The FIJI Water Rockstar Chefs Charity Concert will see six chefs ditching their chef jackets and knives to take on the drums, guitars and microphones as they perform to give the audience a rockin’ good time. With most of the chefs having discovered their culinary passion at an early age, the event that supports children in following their interests in the arts is certainly something that is close to their hearts.
On the team’s band name, Chef Christian says, “We wanted a band name that was both easy to remember and associate with what we do. ‘The Munchies has a swinging sound to it and as chefs, we hardly have proper mealtimes so we do munch a lot on the job!” Chef Christian will be joined by Dan Segall, Chef and Owner of ‘Chu, and Chef Pang Kok Keong, Chef and
Owner of the Sugar Daddy Group to form The Munchies.
The group Burnt Sauce, on the other hand, will be performing three rock favourites from bands Hoobastank, The Beatles and Green Day. “When we think of food, we realise that sauce is essential in creating a good dish,” says band leader Sandro Falbo, the Executive Chef of Hilton Singapore. “The word ‘burnt’ just popped up and we kept it since it offers an interesting twist!” Chef Sandro will be joined by Reynaldo Arriola, Sous Chef of The Halia
Singapore and Christopher Smith, Executive Sous Chef of the Marriot Hotel Singapore to form Burnt Sauce.
In the run-up to the event, the chefs are taking time out from their busy kitchens to practice their repertoire under the guidance of professional music instructors from the Thunder Rock School. The school will also be sending three of their best instructors to perform alongside The Munchies and Burnt Sauce in the upcoming concert. “This is a great initiative by FIJI Water and we are so happy to be a part of it. Through music, we hope to be able to create more opportunity for children from less privileged families to explore their artistic talents,” says Ian Toh, co-owner of the Thunder Rock School.
The FIJI Water Rockstar Chefs Charity Concert will be held at the Hard Rock Café, Resorts World Sentosa on Wednesday the 14th of March 2012 at 730pm.
Tickets are priced at $40nett (includes a bottle of Carlsberg beer and FIJI Water) and full proceeds will be donated in support of The Little Arts Academy. Tickets are available for *purchase at the following locations:
